Task

Conditess Feine Kuchen GmbH has doubled its production capacity. As a consequence of this enhancement it became necessary to review the whole logistics of finished products.

Förster & Krause was contracted to do the planning with the set target as follows:

Determination of the storage dimension
Transport of finished products from the production area to the new finished products warehouse

Connection of the finished products warehouse to the route planning department
Integration of the existing high bay racking
Intermediate buffer for the production (for assortment preparation)
The whole logistics are designed for a stock turnover of 600 pallets per day in the first construction stage and 1.200 pallets per day in the second construction stage.

Solution

Due to the predetermined height of the hall and the small product range, the decision was made for an automatic pallet flow-through storage including pallet conveyor technology and direct connection to the route planning department with a storage capacity of approx. 440 pallets (approx. 14 trailers).
