Task

Due to the strong sales increase on the convenience sector, for the company Steinhaus it became necessary to redesign and optimize the packing- as well as the route planning department. The goods which are customer-specifically packed on pallets ought to be automatically wrapped and provided at the route planning department.

Solution

The pallets coming up in the packing area are put on the conveyor system via lift truck. When the pallet is positioned on the conveyor, the destination (customer section) is set and in the following process the pallet is transported to the wrapping machine. Subsequently the pallet is conveyed to a transfer carriage. There it is taken over and stored in the corresponding route planning section, dependent on the destination. Unless the route planning section is on the ground level, the pallet is handed over to the conveyor system „Intermediate Level“ and lifted up via vertical conveyor. Here a second transfer carriage takes over the pallet and stores it in the corresponding section.
