Task

WEMAG amplified its warehouse on the existing site. Due to lack of space, the extension had to be realized on several levels. In order to design the order picking in an optimal way, a conveyor system was employed connecting the order picking areas and conveying the commissioned goods to the packing zone.

Solution

Empty bins are available for order picking on every level. The operator

is provided with a pick note according to which order picking into the bins is performed manually on the corresponding level. When he has completed order picking in his sector he places the bin on the conveyor system and sets the next destination on the coding strip. Via conveyor system the bins are lead to the corresponding areas. When the order is completed the bins are automatically conveyed to the packing zone via conveyor section. The bins are delivered at the packing places, the articles are removed from the bins and packed for shipping.
